Overview

Psychology is a discipline that focuses on behavior, on why people, and in some cases animals, do the things they do. Why do I dream of flying monkeys at night? Well, it may be because of that trip you took the zoo when you were eight and the monkeys…we’ll leave that alone for now. Clinical Psychology is one variation of the study and practice of psychology, and as a discipline its primary focus is on the practical application of psychological research and methods. This means, in simpler terms, that the focus is on putting a Psychology major to use. Whether it’s helping to diagnose a mental disorder, or conducting research, a major in Clinical Psychology prepares you for direct work in the field.
