Le Moyne College is a four-year, coeducational Jesuit college of approximately 2,700 undergraduate students that uniquely balances a comprehensive liberal arts education with preparation for specific career paths or graduate study.
Founded in 1946, Le Moyne is the youngest of the twenty-seven Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. Its emphasis is on the education of the whole person and on the search for meaning and value as integral parts of an intellectual life. Learning, entrepreneurship, leadership and service are the hallmarks of a Le Moyne College education. Those values are evident in the College's 100+ undergraduate majors, minors and special programs of study and graduate programs in business administration, clinical mental health counseling, education, executive leadership, nursing, occupational therapy, information systems and physician assistant studies.
Le Moyne's personal approach to education is reflected in the quality of contact between students and faculty members. With approximately 150 full-time faculty members, Le Moyne has a student-faculty ratio of 12:1 and an average class size of 20.

From The School
Le Moyne seeks qualified students who are well-prepared for serious academic study. Secondary school preparation must have included at least 17 college-preparatory high school units, 4 of which must be in English, 4 in social studies, 3-4 in mathematics, 3-4 in foreign language, and 3-4 in science. It is also recommended that prospective science and mathematics majors complete 4 units of mathematics and science. Le Moyne is test optional, which means SAT and/or ACT scores are not required for admission. Campus visits are strongly recommended, as the admission process is a personal one. As bases for selection, academic achievement and secondary school recommendations are of primary importance. Out-of-state students are encouraged to apply.
Le Moyne offers students the opportunity to apply in two ways: early action or regular admission. The early action program is nonbinding and provides high school students the opportunity to receive an early admission decision. Following early action, regular admission applications are reviewed and admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. The priority deadline for applications is February 1; all students who wish to be considered for academic merit scholarships should have a completed application on file in the Office of Admission before this date. Transfer students are encouraged to apply before August 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester. Orientation programs for incoming freshmen take place in June. Transfer student orientation programs are offered throughout the summer.

Students Say
Professors at Le Moyne "ensure that you are actually learning and retaining information, [and] that their course has benefited you in every way." In the classroom, they make "use of real-life scenarios or hands-on examples" to demonstrate their lessons, and "frequently mention that they prefer to have a conversation about the material rather than simply talk at the students." Discussion-based exercises are preferred over straight lectures, and many classes incorporate "unique group projects." Faculty work to "establish incredibly close connections with students," which helps to "truly understand and accommodate" students. Smaller class sizes provide "a more personal experience with their professors and peers," and both teachers and staff are "always willing to meet with you and do their best to help you succeed."

A wide range of student-directed activities, athletics, clubs, and service organizations complement the academic experience. Intramural sports are very popular with Le Moyne students; approximately one third of students participate. Le Moyne also has twenty-one Division I NCAA intercollegiate teams (ten for men and eleven for women). Roughly 85 percent of students live in residence halls, apartments, and town houses on campus. The Residence Hall Councils and the Le Moyne Student Programming Board organize a variety of campus activities, including concerts, dances, a weekly film series, student talent programs, and special lectures as well as off-campus trips and skiing excursions.
The College encourages student leadership in all activities with positions open to students in all class years. Students are represented by a Student Government Association and have formal representation through the senate on most College-wide committees involved in decision making and policy formation.
