What are the admissions requirements?
St. Joseph's University, New York is a selective institution. Applicants are evaluated on an individual basis. The University enrolls students who are academically talented and diverse. Successful admissions candidates typically have:
A high school diploma or its equivalent, or postsecondary transcripts.
A personal statement or essay of recommendation.
Standardized test scores that demonstrate the promise of success in college-level courses.
Two letters of recommendation and a personal essay.

When should I apply? When is the application deadline?
St. Joseph's admits students on a rolling basis, but there are scholarship priority dates. For the fall semester, the scholarship priority date is March 15 for freshmen and August 1 for transfer students. For the spring semester, the priority date is January 1 for both freshmen and transfer students.
What do I need to submit as a transfer student?
Applications can be submitted by mail or online. Transfer students should request that official transcripts from all former colleges, and a listing of courses in progress, be sent to our Office of Admissions. You are not required to submit a high school transcript if you have an A.A. degree or have successfully completed 24 or more credits from an accredited college. You may transfer a maximum of 64 credits if you have an A.A. degree; certain A.A.S. degrees are also transferable.

The diverse campus welcomes students and provides many opportunities to develop new interests and cultivate existing ones at campus functions and social events, with more than 40 clubs and organizations to choose from, as well as the ability to create their own club.
A proud participant in the Post-9/11 GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program, St. Joseph's is continually recognized as a Military Friendly School and has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report and Military Times for its commitment to America's veterans and active military. As part of the University's participation in the Post-9/11 GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program, financial support for education and housing is offered to military veterans with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2011, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. The Long Island Campus is minutes from Downtown Patchogue, miles from the waves on Long Island beaches and a few feet from inspiration.
Campus Facilities & Equipment
The Long Island Campus is located in Patchogue, New York. Home to the Callahan Library, John A. Danzi Athletic Center which includes an elevated track, six-lane pool, weight room, fitness center and NCAA regulation basketball court, and a brand new 32,000 square-foot Student Center. The brand new facility is a state-of-the-art home-away-from-home for students with multiple lounge spaces, a dining area, art gallery, chapel, offices for student clubs and dedicated space for student veterans. It also features conference areas and meeting rooms, as well as computer labs.

SJC Long Island is located on the South Shore of eastern Long Island, just minutes from the Great South Bay, Long Island MacArthur Airport, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Orient Point and many of Long Island's ocean beaches. New York City is just a short ride on the Long Island Rail Road. SJC Long Island's campus facilities include six buildings and the state-of-the-art Outdoor Field Complex, spread over a 32-acre lakeside campus on the outskirts of Patchogue Village.
